MOULIN DU ROY watercolor paper derives from the extraordinary, traditional formulations, handed down through the generations. This 100% cotton paper has ideal absorbency and superior strength. Produced on a traditional cylinder mould machine, which gives this paper the look and feel of a handmade paper; washes flow smoothly and evenly across the sheet. Ideally sized to permit the lifting of dred color and the opportunity to refine and rework the watercolor. Available in 3 different surfaces:
Cold Press Watercolor - Has a light texture and is the most common texture, It reflects light well, retaining the transparent quality of watercolors. A light grain makes it easier to achieve certain details.
Hot Press Watercolor - Is used for portraits. Discreet and reserved, it focuses attention on the subject of the work, emphasizing the drawing. However with such a subtle medium a certain degree of technical mastery is essential.
Rough Watercolor - Has an effect close to that of handmade paper. This rough grain paper helps to achieve valuable effects of texture.
