Daniel Smith Watercolor Grounds

Just brush this heavily pigmented, acrylic-based ground onto absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces (for best results abrade the surface with sandpaper or steel wool before brushing on the ground.

One coat works on most materials—allow the surface to cure for 24 hours before painting. Once dry, it will not reactivate. If you're framing without glass, use a UV Archival Varnish to seal the surface.

Transparent Watercolor Ground, lets patterns shine through. Maintain the grain of wood panels or the colors and textures of decorative paper, fabrics or found objects as you enhance them with watercolor paint and mixed media materials. You get a protective coat for your substrate along with pigment-gripping tooth.

Available - Titanium White, Iridescent Gold and Transparent.
